Saw Yannick Murphy read from Here They Come at Coliseum books last night. Galley Cat has pics and a post about the event. It was my first time going to a reading at Coliseum. Little noisy. At one point they even turned some music on. The speaker was directly above Ms. Murphy's head. Imagine. Samba! Too bad, I thought. She kept her cool and read some memorable passages from the book. Q & A at the end. I asked a question, then scrutinized my phrasing for the next hour or so. No more questions.
The Morning News TOB is down to the finals. Shot-caller, JW, of the OliveReader picked Homeland by Sam Lipsyte to win from the get-go. And now it's the finals and I swear by the prophet. So check your head, before you wet the bed.
This post could get ugly, if it isn't already, so I'm going to call it. I'm out sick. Abi, it's up to you.

I'm always so excited to find another person who's read Murphy's book. Isn't it great? It's so strange, yet so right. McSweeney's is on a roll lately, what with this one and Dustin Long's Icelander. Why can't these books be on every shelf instead of the Da Vinci Code?
